Albert von Thurn and Taxis
Albert is by far the youngest billionaire in Germany. At just 28 years old he is also one of the youngest billionaires in the world. Only two others, Facebook founders, are younger than Albert.
The son of royalty, Albert lives in a castle, Schloss St. Emmeram (also known as Schloss Thurn und Taxis), located in Regensburg Bavaria.

The castle and his other assets amounts to a net worth of over $2 billion. It was inherrited from his parents. According to Forbes, the source of Albert’s wealth is a tech company, art, real estate and a large holding of land. He owns one of the largest forest holdings in Europe. Forbes also says that he intends to use his land to build one of the largest solar farms in the world.
Albert von Thurn und Taxi is also known for being a race car driver in Germany.
Axel Oberwelland
Axel is the owner of Storck GmbH, a candy company who’s brands are probably more familiar to you. Mamba, Toffifay, Riesen, and Werther’s Original are likely the most widely known brands in the U.S. The company has been under his family’s control for generations. Axel became the owner when his father passed away.
Axel Oberwelland is 44 years old and Forbes values his net worth at $3.4 billion.
Stefan Quandt
Stefan, the fifth wealthiest man in Germany, gets most of his wealth from owning a large share of BMW stock (over 17%), which he inherrited from his father. Stefan, who is a trained engineer, is also the sole owner of Delton, a holding company for several other businesses.
He is 45 years old and Forbes estimates his net worth to be over $10 billion.
Georg von Opel
Georg is the great grandson of Adam Opel, who led the Opel company as it started producing automobiles. Acording to Forbes, Georg inherited over $150 million in 1989. Since then, through investing in various companies, his net worth has grown to over $1.6 billion.
Georg is 45 years old.
Ralph Dommermuth
Ralph is the first “self-made” billionaire on list of youngest billionaires. He founded a tech company in the late 1980’s. Since then his company has become a public corporation and been renamed to United Internet AG.
Ralph still owns a large percentage of the stock in United Internet, and his estimated net worth is $1.5 billion. He is 47 years old.
